The Fine Print

Oh hi there, thanks for dropping by. If you’re looking for more information, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some of the questions I get asked all the time – but if I’ve missed anything, please drop me a line here.

Q. I can’t wait to hang my new art on my wall! When will you post it?

I’m as excited as you are to see how it looks in its new home! I post once a week (Wednesday) from country South Australia unless otherwise discussed. This could change – for example, immediately after a new art drop – make sure you follow me on Instagram so I can keep you in the loop.

Q. Speaking of postage, who do you use and how much does it cost?

I use Australia Post for prints and small artworks (with tracking and insurance). I only use trusted couriers for my larger canvases to make sure your beautiful acquisition arrives in as pristine condition as it left my studio. Postage is additional to the price of the artwork and is dependant on the size and weight of the piece and it’s final destination. The maximum size I can send from Jamestown is 105cm x 105cm inclusive of packaging so anything larger will need a trip to Adelaide to Pack and Send which will add time to the delivery.

Q. Do you ship overseas?

Please ask, I have shipped to New Zealand, Hong Kong and Canada previously - I go on a case by case basis rather that a blanket yes over the entire site. Otherwise why not book a plane ticket and come on an adventure down-under to see my beautiful part of the world – if you want an insider’s guide to regional South Australia, then I’m your girl! I’ll even shout you a coffee if you’ve come that far.

Q. Can I exchange or return my purchase?

As I’m sure you can understand, as an artist I can’t offer refunds on my original pieces, as I can’t guarantee the condition is up to my standards after it leaves my hot little hands. If you’re unsure if the piece you have your eye on will suit the spot you have in mind, please contact me and we can chat about the best art for your space. But be quick – my originals are one of a kind and you don’t want to miss out. If you’re buying a piece as a gift and aren’t sure if the recipient will like it (trust me, they will, but hey – I’m a bit biased) then why not avoid the worry and purchase an Alysha Sparks gift voucher so they can choose something for themselves.

Q. Yay, my new artwork has arrived – what now?

You’re now the proud owner of an original artwork, so care must be taken. Here are some tips:

  • Make sure you hang canvases – especially large ones – with secure fastenings. You don’t want it crashing down and hurting itself (or anyone else)!

  • Please don’t hang canvases in direct sunlight.

  • Never use water or cleaning products to clean artworks, use only a soft dry cloth to remove dust.

  • Remember, the copyright of my art remains with me so reproductions are strictly prohibited.

Q. What materials do you use for your art?

  • Paint: I use a mix of different types of acrylic paints, sometimes oil pastels and posca markers depending on the piece. As a finishing touch, each piece is varnished using a spray varnish to protect it.

  • Canvas: My originals are painted on quality stretched canvas and framed in Jamestown by Clive Palmer or Clare by Blackman Gallery to the highest quality.

  • Prints: Prints are photographed from the original using a 1200 mega pixel scanning camera by Blackman Gallery in Clare, SA. They are printed on 320gsm highly textured elite art paper – an archival, acid free, 100% cotton rag art paper.

Q. Tell me more about your prints.

It was so important for me to work with a printer who would do justice to my originals justice so I was fortunate to find one only an hour away. Blackman Gallery in Clare, SA, do an amazing job at photographing my artworks and creating prints. Prints are a great way to share the love so more people can hang an Alysha Sparks artwork in their home, office, restaurant, shed… trust me, they pop up everywhere. Want to know a little secret? Unless you know what you’re looking for, it’s actually difficult to tell if you’re looking at a print or original - the quality and colour is incredible and matched to perfection.

Q. I reckon we could be a perfect match – do you do collaborations?

I’m always open to collaborating with like-minded people so drop me a line.

Q. What about commissions?

Currently commissions are closed.

Q. I would love to feature your artwork in my shop – do you do wholesale?

Yes I do limited wholesale, please contact me to find out more.
